I’m Spencer Lloyd Peet, a photographer based in the beautiful Royal County of Berkshire (just outside London), best known probably for its presence of Windsor Castle, one of the many homes of the Queen, though we've yet to have tea together... I've just been too busy.

 

I love photographing the diverse aspects of all cultures and places of the world and capturing the emotion and beauty of people from all walks of life expressing themselves, be it in their smile or their talent. I specialise in Event, Performing Arts & Theatre and Portrait photography.

I equally love photographing still life. I’m in awe of artisans who are able to breathe life into a lump of clay, a block of wood or slab of stone, even a bar of soap or a piece of fruit, and create something that is remarkable and often inspirational.

​

My passion for photography developed from my work as a freelance writer back in 2008. Realising how important a good quality photo is to enhancing an article I invested in a DLSR camera and immediately found my voice. I was soon documenting large events and shows for various magazines including NEO (the UK's leading publication on Asian entertainment) and MyM (the official magazine of MCM Central). My work in the media has led to much collaboration with various performing artists such as actors, dancers and musicians.

It’s important for me to make a connection with the person/people or object I’m photographing. It’s an intuitive experience in which we become one. For instance, I don’t just photograph a dancer I mentally dance and engage with them. When working with objects/products I study the shape and form of each piece so I can get a better understanding of how best to light and shoot them in a way others can gain insight and relate emotionally.

For me, photography is all about making a connection. So let’s get connected and start creating memorable moments together, as nothing gives me more pleasure than sharing in the hopes, dreams and ambitions of those I collaborate with.
